We are thrilled to share an exciting new partnership that strengthens access, connection, and community for Smith Jewish Academy families across the Twin Cities.

Beginning this winter, Smith Jewish Academy, in collaboration with the Minnesota JCC, will launch the J’s Gesher Express — a before- and after-school transportation option designed to connect students in St. Paul and Minneapolis and make Jewish day school education more accessible than ever.

The J’s Gesher Express will provide daily transportation for K-8 Smith students between the Minnesota JCC’s Capp Center in St. Paul and Sabes Center in St. Louis Park, reducing logistical barriers for families while strengthening the ties between our Jewish communities. The program’s name, Gesher — Hebrew for “bridge” — beautifully reflects its purpose: creating meaningful, supportive connections between families, institutions, and shared Jewish life.

This collaborative effort is supported by Smith Jewish Academy, the Minnesota JCC, Talmud Torah of St. Paul, the St. Paul Jewish Federation, and the Minneapolis Jewish Federation, all working together to advance Jewish education, accessibility, and community connection. We are deeply grateful to the Minnesota JCC for their thoughtful leadership and partnership in bringing this vision to life.
